Who I Am
I am a Architectural/Commercial sales rep for Riverside Brick and Supply Co. I graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Ashland, VA in 1980 and attended Ferrum College from 1980-1982
I married Dawn Anderson in July 1986. We have 2 adult children (Abbey and Phillip) Abbey is an Elementary Special Education teacher in Virginia Beach and Phillip is working at the YMCA as a personal trainer. We have lived in the Larkspur Neighborhood in the Kempsvile District since June of 1993
My first community service started in 1985 with the Hanover County Jaycees, then we moved to Tidewater in 1986 and continued serving the community as a member of the Sunshine Rotary Club Norfolk 1992-1996.
Because I have a passion for all sports I volunteered as a Baseball Coach from 1999-2009 and also served on the Kempsville Pony Baseball board for 6 years, becoming its President for 2 years.

The Larkspur Swim & Racquet Club Board from 1997-2002
The Builders & Contractors Exchange Board 2010- Present and am President for 2020
I joined the Historic Kempsville (Citizens Advisory Committee) CAC in 2011 and was later appointed to Chair of the Redevelopment Committee.
I was appointed to the City’s Beaches and Waterways Commission by Councilwoman Dr. Amelia Ross- Hammond in 2016and will serve in this leadership role until 2022
I also serve as President of the Larkspur Civic League Board and is a member of the recently established Board of VA Builds workforce development arm for the construction industry.
I am on the Board of Directors and serves as CoTreasurer of the Virginia African American Cultural Center.
Over the years, I have been involved in many organizations to better the community. I have always taken into consideration all opinions, no matter the issue, and work towards a common goal. As your City Council representative, I, along with the other council members, will work toward the best solutions for the citizens of Virginia Beach.
